# PRUSA special heads ### ever done pick and place with a PRUSA XL Probably, all of you have seen the metal thread inserts that you melt into a ready printed part. What about picking the nut at the right moment, insert it into the pocket and continue printing? This is what some people from ZHAW have done with PRUSA XL. ![prusa_zahw-pick-and-place-parts.jpg](file-guid:12bc50df-74c9-4d9d-bc10-3f4c18cd411f "prusa_zahw-pick-and-place-parts.jpg" =x150)![prusa_zahw-pick-and-place-head.jpg](file-guid:6b5287ce-4491-4cd0-bdc8-ce537ba9117d "prusa_zahw-pick-and-place-head.jpg" =x150)![prusa_zahw-pick-and-place-magazine.jpg](file-guid:43975aba-ce41-44fb-b50d-cdbef4bd4463 "prusa_zahw-pick-and-place-magazine.jpg" =x150) Marco Niederhauser presents this solution at the PRUSA booth in hall 12.1F01 and it is great to see how the nuts are being positioned into the pockets. It is just a matter of change of tool head, the nut is being picked by a magnet and just above the pocket, the print platform moves up to receive the insert. Marco was saying that other pieces can be managed, too. But for the moment, it is nuts in vertical and horizontal position. All of these come from the magazine that is in the front of the print platform thus individual shapes can be created as needed. You find Marco at the back right corner.
